Check your blade tension. It is the most common reason for premature blade breakage and causes blade wandering in the product being cut – not enough tension and the blade will waver; too much and it will break.
Check that the back-up bearings only touch and support the back of the blade when cutting the meat.
Make sure you are using the correct tooth pitch. It will prolong the blade life, allow for faster cutting and will reduce product wastage.
Check the adjustment of your blade guides so that the blade always tracks in the centre of the guides. Properly adjusted guides will increase the accuracy of the cut, increase blade life and decrease downtime.
When changing blades, check for bearing wear on the drive and idler wheels. Replace any worn or pitted bearings found. You will benefit from increased blade life and avoid larger machine related problems.
Keep your work place clean. It will eliminate a lot of wasted time trying to work around debris looking for tools.
